Steps to creating a user account and alumni profile on Sheikh Alumni

To engage with the Sheikh Alumni platform, the first step is to create a user account.

Steps to create an account:

  • Go to the homepage: Navigate to Sheikhalumni.org.
  • Click "Login": Find the "Login" button in the top-right corner of the homepage.
  • Register: Register as a new user by either clicking "Register as a new user" button and providing your details on the Register page or login with 3rd party applications like "Google" and "Facebook".
  • Fill in your details: Provide your email address, and a secure password.
  • Email confirmation: Check your email for a confirmation link, and click it to verify and activate your account.
  • Login: Once verified, return to the website, log in using your credentials.
  • Login with: If you use Login with Google or Facebook, you don't need to povide password or confirm email.

After logging into your account, it’s time to create and set up your alumni profile to connect with others.

Steps to set up your alumni profile:

  • Access your profile: Click on the "Create" button in the top-right corner of the page.
  • Add personal information:
    • Name: Add your full name and a favorite name, if any.
    • Graduation year: Enter the year you graduated.
    • Profile picture: Upload a picture to help alumni recognize you.
    • Bio: Provide details about your academic and professional background.
  • Professional information: Add your current job title, company, and any past work experience.
  • Education history: Enter the details of your institution and degrees obtained.
  • Social media links: Optionally, add your LinkedIn profile and other social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Twitter).
  • Save your profile: Ensure all details are correct and save your profile.
  • Profile approval: Wait for a site admin to approve your profile for the first time.

Once your profile is complete, you are ready to explore and connect with the alumni community.

  • Admin approval: Your profile will be reviewed and approved by an administrator. You’ll be notified once it’s live.
  • Search for Alumni: After approval, you can use the search feature, located in the top-right menu. Look up alumni by name, location, graduation year, or profession, and connect with fellow community members.

How to resend your email confirmation on Sheikh Alumni

If you having issue login in to your account after registration. Maybe, you are recieving "Invalid login attempt" error. It is most probably that you didn't confirm your email yet.

If you did not receive the original confirmation email or need to request it again, follow the steps below to resend the email confirmation.

  • Go to the homepage: Navigate to Sheikhalumni.org.
  • Click on the "login" button: Locate the "login" button at the top-right corner of the homepage.
  • Select "Resend email confirmation": On the login page, click the "Resend email confirmation" link under the login form.
  • Enter your email address: You will be prompted to enter the email address associated with your account. Type it in and click "Resend".
  • Check your email: A new confirmation email will be sent to your email inbox. Open the email and click the provided link to confirm your account.
  • Complete your account setup: Once confirmed, return to the login page and log in to access your account.

How to reset your password on Sheikh Alumni

  • Go to the homepage: Navigate to Sheikhalumni.org.
  • Click on the "login" button: Locate the "login" button at the top-right corner of the homepage.
  • Select "forgot password?": On the login page, click the "forgot your password?" link under the login form.
  • Enter your email address: You will be prompted to enter the email address associated with your account. Type it in and click "Reset Password".
  • Check your email: A password reset link will be sent to your email inbox. Open the email and click on the provided link to proceed.
  • Create a new password: You will be redirected to a password reset page. Enter your email, a new password, confirm it, and click "Reset" to complete the process.
  • Login with your new password: After successfully resetting your password, return to the login page and use your new password to access your account.

  • Use a combination of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
  • Avoid common words or easily guessable information like your name or birthdate.
  • Make sure your password is at least 8 characters long.
